Jessica and I have been Music Ministers for the past twelve years. My passion for worship started at an early age constantly surrounded by music and worship from my Father and mother Rod and Shelley Solomon.
Growing up in a pastor’s home was a blessing I did not take for granted. Not only did I witness the miracles and presence of God, I also had the privilege of learning skills and musicianship from my father who had been an artist and worship leader most of his life. The summer of my 8th grade year of school I felt the call to one day be in full time ministry. I started leading worship for my youth group and special events around Birmingham, Alabama. In 1996 I began interning with my father which I hoped would last several years.
On December 20th, 1998 I was driving my family from Birmingham to Cincinnati, Ohio where every year we spent Christmas with my extended family. Late that night while driving I hit a patch of black ice severely injuring my self, my sister and ultimately lead to the death of my mother and father. Miraculously, I walked away but with physical and mental scars that would shape my life and send me on a path bringing me where I am today. While in the hospital waiting for my sister to get out of surgery I had a physical encounter with God that thrust me on a journey chasing after Him.
The very next Sunday following my parents funeral God placed the mantle of my father on me as I walked where He once had, leading worship in the main service for hundreds of grieving people looking for a place to find peace. I saw God move in a way I had never seen before bringing supernatural peace and restoration, changing my life forever.
I have been leading worship ever since. My desire in life is not to entertain but take people to the very throne room of God where they can find love, joy, peace and restoration as I have. I press on hoping to see God move in uncharted waters, seeking Him in all that I do, giving Him my very best, living out the calling on my life. I believe He is calling us to a higher place of worship and I will continue pressing in and praying that believers and unbelievers will see the glory and power of God like never before as we seek Him in His presence.
